Helping Others

Mentoring

image1905In any field, having a professional mentor can help individuals develop and advance their careers. A strong mentoring relationship is built on collaboration and the commitment to the professional development of one or both of its participants. While in the typical mentoring relationship, one participant has more experience, skill, knowledge than the other, many strong mentoring relationships provide an opportunity for both parties to learn from each other through the development of a caring and respectful partnership.

NA-WIN will put a members in touch with an individual in the desired field to offer advice and assistance as it relates to personal and professional growth.

Volunteering

As an organization, we are committed to giving back to our community. Every event hosted by a NA-WIN chapter offers some form of education or mentoring and networking “with a purpose”. Each branch of NA-WIN is encouraged to select a charity of choice. Signature events and fundraising are an integral part of our mission. On a national level, Dress for Success, Susan G Komen Foundation, and other charities that support women in need, are suggested.

Women helping Women…

2 business womenWIN-Chapters and NA-WIN achieve its missions and goals thru networking, mentoring and education. Women from all areas of society have reached out to WIN to help them in their times of need.  Many times, women need the education to move forward in their personal and professional development, but have had to devote their time and monies to areas of their business often times neglecting their own needs for development.  In an effort to help women, achieve their goals, NA-WIN has established a way to help professional women receive education and training at any WIN Event, through a variety of fundraising efforts. We have made it a policy to help a women in hardship by allowing them to participate in WIN events at little to no cost to them, sometimes in exchange for their own willingness to give back to the community of women supporting them – perhaps volunteering at an event, helping to find sponsorships, or a variety of other volunteering opportunities in the WIN community.

Women’s Educational Fund

In an effort to provide the funds to cover the costs of these types of activities, Pomaybo, Inc. has set up an online shop for all supporters of NA-WIN and WIN-Pittsburgh.  Any online jewelry purchases will help to defray some of the cost of trainings and education to help women receive the personal and professional development at WIN events.
